Later on, Maria attended the University of Georgia where she played volleyball and basketball for the Bulldogs. Some of the awards were being a member of the Atlanta Tip-Off Team of the Year, as a Fulton County Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Offensive MVP of her high school volleyball team for a period of three years, a three-time All-Region Selection, and being named All-State as a senior. She studied at Centennial High School, where Maria had a successful four-year basketball career in which she earned several accolades. She hasn’t shared any other photos of or with the guy who appears to be her husband. Maria shared wedding photos on Instagram with a totally different man in February 2021 and captioned them, “I love our love story.” However, Maria didn’t add any information about the said love story and Maria didn’t tag her new husband in any of the photos. Later on, they divorced due to unknown reasons to most of Maria’s fans and social media followers. She happily married her lovely husband Rodney Blackstock in 2019. In addition, Maria belongs to the Afro-American ethnicity.
Maria also has a brother, Steve, and a sister Savannah in her family. Maria wrote that her dad retired from the FBI after 27yrs of service and she has grown up with the perfect example of a caring husband and father. She uploaded a photo of her dad and mom on her Twitter. He retired in January 2015, from the FBI. Maria is a proud daughter to Steve and Suzette Taylor. She was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, by her parents.
